Project : A-PLUS Architect (browser-based tool for usability evaluation in software design)
Tasks : design, research, user testing
Client : ABB (R&D collaboration)
Completed : Nov 2009
Detail : Phrasing information for technical domain experts
Challenges : The language of usability experts is not necessarily easy for software architects to understand. USAPs described issues that arose from usability issues, but they had to be phrased in language that worked from a software engineering perspective.
Solution : Multiple usability scenarios were described at the same time for a single USAP responsibility by inserting parameter values in the descriptions in a way that was natural for software engineers accustomed to reading programming languages.
